When working with Builder Projects, you can preview your work and share that preview with others. For Pro plans and above, you can password protect your previews for added control.
To preview a Project:
- Go to Projects and open your Project.
- At the upper right corner of the Visual Editor, click on the Open Preview in New Tab icon.
- To share the preview, copy and share the URL.
The video below shows opening a Project, opening the preview, copying the URL, and opening it in another browser that isn't logged into Builder.
To password protect previews for your Space:
- Go to your Space Settings.
- Click the Edit button next to Preview Password Protection.
- Toggle Enable Password Protection to the on position.
- Copy the generated password for easier use.
- Click the Save button.
Now, when Builder loads the preview, a password prompt loads that protects the preview and allows access only with the password from Settings.
Enabling password protection for your Space provides a single password for all Projects within that Space.
Instead of, or in addition to, adding Space-level password protection, you can add specific Project-level passwords. These passwords apply only to that specific Project's previews.
To password protect previews for a specific Project in your Space:
- Go to your Projects page.
- Click the three-dot menu button next to a Project.
- Select Project settings.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down until you see Enable Password Protection for Previews.
- Toggle the option on.
- Adjust your password for this Project as desired.
- Click Save.
The password set within the Project applies only to that Project.
This feature can be implemented with or without Space-level password protection, providing you a way to implement preview password protection for as many or as few of your Projects as you like.
