Your team can organize and search for images and videos with the Asset Library.
If you are using Environments, you must manage folders in the main environment. Builder then syncs the updates you make to folders in the main environment with child environments. For more information, visit Understanding Environments.
To add an item(s) to the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Click Upload Files.
- Select the files you want to upload.
The following video shows uploading assets to the Asset Library. The first example is a single upload and the second shows selecting more than one asset for a bulk upload.
To create a folder in the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Click + New Folder.
- Name the new folder.

To create a subfolder in the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Click + New Folder.
- Name the new folder.
- Choose the parent folder.

To move or rename an item to a folder in the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Hover over the item you want to move and click the Edit Asset icon (the pencil icon).
- In the dialogue that opens, rename the asset or select another folder.
- Click the Save button.

To set the default alt text of an item in the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Hover over the item you want to move and click the Edit Asset icon (the pencil icon).
- In the dialogue that opens, add your alt text.
- Click the Save button.

Tip: Adding alt text to an image within the asset library will not retroactively adjust the alt text for images already added to your application.
By default, when you upload an asset to Builder, an alphanumeric name is automatically generated. To change this to a more memorable name that's people- and SEO-friendly, specify the URL slug you want to use.
Note that this cannot be undone and can only be done once.
To provide an SEO-friendly name of an item in the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Hover over the item you want to move and click the Edit Asset icon (the pencil icon).
- In the dialogue that opens, add the name you want to use in the slug.
- Click the Save button.
The next video shows the process of specifying the URL slug for an item in the Asset Library. The example in the video uses an image in a folder. The location of your asset in the Asset Library and your folders will depend on where your team stores them.
To delete a folder from the Asset Library:
- Go to the Asset Library.
- Select the folder you want to delete and click the Trash icon.
- In the dialogue that opens, click the OK button to delete.
