Builder offers a simple solution to integrate with ReCharge, a leading recurring billing solution that helps merchants sell subscriptions and improve the checkout experience.
👉Note: The Recharge app template is currently only compatible with the Shopify platform
This guide will go over:
1. Using the Recharge Standard subscription widget.
This widget is the most widely used. It should be used by Shopify merchants who started using ReCharge prior to November 2nd, 2020, and any merchant with a headless site on any other ecommerce platform
2. Using the Recharge New Shopify subscription widget.
This is ReCharge's newest subscription widget specific for Shopify merchants that leverages Shopify Checkout. All Shopify merchants who started using ReCharge after November 2nd, 2020 should use this widget.
Still don’t know which widget to use? Check your store settings in ReCharge and see which version you are using. If it says “Shopify Checkout” under Platform then you should use the New Shopify subscription widget. If it says anything else, then you should use the standard subscription widget (see screenshot below)
Click Import from Apps which will open a popup and choose ReCharge standard subscription widget
Drop the App template anywhere onto the page.
👉Note: The Recharge subscription integration requires the Add to Cart button to work correctly. if your content already has an add to cart button, you can delete it and use the Recharge Add to Cart button instead.
If you’re using the app template on a Shopify-hosted product page, you should see your app template displaying your subscription option!
If you’re using this on a Shopify-hosted non-product page or section, you’ll need to add your Product handle and Builder key.
If you’re using the app template on a headless Shopify product page, then you should see your app template displaying your subscription option. If you have variants associated with the subscription, to get them to appear, you will need to include the variant as a URL parameter (example: ?variant=some-id and variants will display). Reach out to our support channels if you need help with alternate headless implementations
Using Builder, you can now completely customize the look and feel of the Recharge widget, and even test different variations.

The app will require some information to properly display information.
On the left sidebar, navigate to the Options tab where it will require you to add the Product Id (the product on which to set a subscription) and your Store domain (eg. my-store.myshopify.com)
Product Id: To find your product Id, navigate to your Shopify product list, select the a product, and copy the Id from the address bar (the Id is the last part of the URL).
After entering in the required data, you should see your app template displaying your subscription option! Using Builder, you can now completely customize the look and feel of the ReCharge widget, and even test different variations.
👉Note: Currently, variants are not supported on non-product pages. Reach out to our support channels if you need help implementing variants on non-product pages. Note: this will require a developer on your end.
